Wreck salvage

We provide wreck salvage in conditions where normal salvage proves hard

Vrakberging

Sometimes bringing a grounded ship back in one piece is just not possible. This could be due to ground conditions or other factors that make the salvage difficult.

In those cases, we have a method of removing the wreck from the sea ground.

How we do wreck-salvage

When wreck salvagers deem regular salvage as not feasible, we have a way of sorting the problem.

Our way of approach is by cutting the ship in to smaller pieces for transport. As we carry out the salvage, barriers are established, and continuous monitoring is done to avoid any spills from the wreck. This ensures environmental safety and security for all parties involved.

The method of work consisted of three steps:

Step one

Step one is to cut the wreck in to sections, using a thin diamond-imbedded wire. With our self-designed guillotine, we cut the wreck from the bottom up, with an absolute minimum of debris.

This is a relatively fast way to get the wreck into manageable sections, for transport. Our equipment is customized to specifically meet the parameters of each individual assignment.

Step two

In step two the sections are lifted by a mobile crane onboard a transporter ship. The size of the sections is made to ensure that several sections can be stacked and transported on a single transport.

Step three

The sections are transported to a scrap yard to be fully dismantled. All our equipment is removed, and the marine area affected by the wreck can return to its original state.
